You can be tested for sexually transmitted infections at any time.
Some infections may not show up immediately (for example, chlamydia and gonorrhoea can take 2 weeks from the time of infection before it can be detected). You may then have to come back at a later date for more tests.
There are some situations when you should tested straight away. For example:
- If you have any symptoms
- If you have been in contact with someone who has an infection
- If you have been the victim of a sexual assault
We can also test if you have no symptoms as part of a sexual health screen.
Embrace offers testing and treatment for all sexually transmitted infections.
